The best Black Friday fashion deals from A to Z

CUSTOMERS queued outside the new Joules store in a Derbyshire town from as early as 3am to be in with the chance of bagging a £200 prize. The fashion retailer opened the doors to its shop in Market Place, Ashbourne, at 9.30am promising shopping vouchers worth between £50 and £200 to the first 20 people into the store. And first in the queue was Danielle Mitchell, who waited more than six and-a-half hours for shop to open. Miss Mitchell, from Ashbourne, said she turned up early to get the £200 voucher for her six-year-old daughter, Issey Breeze. She said: "I got here about 2.30am I think, maybe a bit later, then I noticed nobody was here so I sat in the car for a bit. Then I got out and sat outside the shop.

My daughter will love this [voucher], I'll bring her in later and she can choose what to spend it on. I might spend a bit on myself, but I got it for her really. Everyone in the queue was given a goody bag, offered a slice of cake, and a musician was brought in to serenade them. The fashion and interiors brand has created eight jobs with its move into the former home of the Derbyshire Building Society in Market Place, Ashbourne, which was one of the town's largest empty shops. The company's founder, Tom Joule, said: "We're thrilled to be opening a new Joules store in Ashbourne. We are really looking forward to bringing our unique personality and style to shoppers over the coming months. We can't wait to open the doors."

Mr Joule started the firm in Market Harborough in 1989 with the sale of 100 pink wellies which led to a new style brand offering practical and trendy products for people who love the outdoors. The brand now offers collections spanning womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, homewares and eyewear and these are distributed across its chain of shops, online, through catalogue mail order and wholesale outlets.

Last month, the company, which has nearly 100 shops across the UK and attracts customers from around the world, floated on London's junior stock exchange market, AIM. The company was valued at £140 million and bosses said at the time that it would use the proceeds to open around a dozen shops per year.
